Today was signed by His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos II, the Minister of Interior Affairs, Mr. Mavroudis (Makis) Voridis and the president of the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government (E.K.D.D.A), Mr. Paraskevi Dramalioti, a cooperation agreement of the Pastoral Training Institute (I.P.E) of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and the National Center for Democracy of Administration and Local Government. The goal is to respond to the challenges of the new, digital, era through the modernization of the ecclesiastical administrative organization and the further development of the educational activity of I.P.E.
In particular, His Beatitude pointed out the vital importance of the edification of the clergy, making a brief throwback at the 40 years of his presidency. He then mentioned the fruits of the Church’s fruitful relationship with the State, which is reflected in the promotion of the cooperation of the Pastoral Training Foundation of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens with the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government, as another step in modernizing in the digital era
On his behalf, the Minister of Interior Affairs, Mr. M. Voridis, emphasized on the need to address the challenges and needs for the entire Public Administration that come along with the new under development technological and digital environment. An environment in the requirements of which the civil servants and in this case the clergy and the executives of the Church must be ready to meet. In this spirit, E.K.D.D.A offers the acquired expertise adapted to the needs of the people of the Church. The foundations of the excellent cooperation of I.P.E. with the E.K.D.D.A have been set for seven years, in 2014. Today, the two sides jointly bind this cooperation, forming a modern framework that seeks to meet the diverse challenges and needs of the times.
The Cooperation Agreement, which was presented by the president of E.K.D.D.A Mr. Paraskevi Dramalioti and the reverend Archimandrite Theologos Alexandrakis, Deputy Director of the Pastoral Training Foundation, provides a common framework of action of the two institutions, about issues of detection of training and educational needs, planning and implementation of training activities and exploitation of new techniques. Also present at the signing of the Cooperation Agreement were the Vice President of E.K.D.D.A. Mr. Vassilios Exarchos and the Director of the Training Institute Mr. Konstantinos Tzimas.
